Biography

Lisa J. Strahm, MD

I obtained my medical degree at the University of Berne, Switzerland and recertified in the USA at UCLA and UCSD. I have a passion for bringing high quality care to each patient and helping patients understand the origin of th disease and the science behind treatments. To me Medicine is not an exact science, but a marriage between body, mind and spirit. I firmely believe the most important attribute of a physician is to be a partner in each patients health journey. I have obtained specialized training in bone metabolic diseases aside from extensive training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Internal Medicine.

I now look foward to providing services in an intimate single provider specialty practice. I collaborate with UCSD and Scripps when needed, work with local specialits and primary care providers and collaborate with patient advocacy groups. I am affiliated with Scripps Mercy Medical Center in San Diego.

Herbal Therapy

Besides being a more passionate than successful gardener, I believe that the unique beauty of our surroundings deserves the utmost care and protection. I am fascinated by the lore of herbal and other plant based treatments and using scents, teas, salves and potions, where appropriate to supplement medical care.

Transportation

I am a passionate bicycle rider and strive to make San Diego a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly city. I believe little changes in our daily mobility can go a long way to improve health and well being.

Community

I strive to create a community of patients that eventually can be connected with each other to support each other trough personal trials. I envision my patients connecting to cook, excercise and exchange information with each other.
